Baked Golgappe with Chilli Garlic veggies.

This was absolutely out of the blue , totally unplanned. Tried on the spur of the moment.

It was marvellous and I would strongly encourage all my fellow members to try it too

I was apparently making chilli garlic veggies with rice when I saw the Golgappas that had been made a few days back sitting tight in an airtight container. Thought to myself what’s the harm in trying. And so it happened. I’m a very non spicy person this was so much jhaal but yet I loved it.

I love the Veeba Stir Fry sauce as it’s so versatile and saves you so much if cooking time. Don’t need to bother with spices or vinegar soya sauce etc. it’s complete.

2-3 tbsp Veeba stir fry sauce

3/4 tsp Red Chili thencha ( better than any chilli garlic sauce ) diluted in 1/4 cup of water.

1 tsp sesame seeds

1 tsp heaped green chilli garlic pounded

Handfull of fried noodles


A few pieces of broccoli

3-4 mushrooms chopped

2 Spring onions chopped

A few spring onion leaves chopped

3-4 French beans chopped to size

1/4 cup carrots sliced.

1/4 cup Zucchini chopped to size.

Method for the Chilli Garlic Veggies

Blanch the broccoli, carrots , mushrooms and beans in hot water to which you add a pinch of salt and sugar. Drain and then rinse it with cold water.

Heat a little oil in a wok.

Add in a tbsp of sesame oil sauté the garlic and green chillies and sesame.

Add in the spring onions and zucchini and stir fry for a few minutes. Add in the rest of the veggies. Toss and cook for a minute or two.

Add in the diluted thencha cook for a minute

Add in the Veeba Stir Fry sauce and salt.

Add the required amount of water about 1/2 cup.

Cook till it starts boiling.

Crack the top part of the Golgappa

Fill in the cavity with the chilli garlic stir fried veggies and a little gravy . Top with a few fried noodles or nylon sev. Enjoy.

To make the Golgappa.

Place a few of the ready Golgappas individually on the outer side of the microwave plate with a tissue underneath. Microwave for under a minute or until they puff up.

These golgappas puff up beautifully.
