Tomato Sooji Dosa

I loved this recipe when I saw it and made it. Best part you don’t have to make a chutney have it with any pickle or just by itself.

1 cup Sooji (soaked)

2 tbsp urad dal ( soaked)

2-3 green chillies or more

1″ pc ginger

2 tomatoes roughly chopped

1 tsp oil + more

2 tbsp coriander chopped


Presoak the urad dal and sooji separately for about 2-3 hours.

Smear a pan with 1 tsp oil. Throw in the ginger , tomatoes and green chillies.

Cook till the raw smell of tomatoes goes away and they’re mushy. Cool. Grind in a mixie. Mix this in the presoaked Sooji .

Grind the dal to a smooth paste and mix it in the sooji too. Add salt. Leave for about 2 hours to ferment. And make dosas on a medium hot tawa. Sprinkle a little oil or ghee. Donot lift it up. Wait for it to start browning on the underside. Cook on a medium hot tawa. As it starts getting crisp. Start lifting it with a spatula from the outer ends towards the middle.

Relish it with any chutney or pickle.
