Nachni Puda / Pua
Today being Navmi we Marwaris offer Kheer Puda and the Rakhis that each one of us had worn to GOGGA
also known as Jahar Veer Gogga is a folk deity, worshiped in northern states of India especially in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab region and Uttar Pradesh. He is a warrior-hero of the region, venerated as a saint and a ‘snake-god’. He is worshiped as a peer among Hindus .Believed to have been born after his mother consumed the Prasad of the Guggal fruit. Hence the name GOGGA
Normally we use wheat flour to make the Pudas but today I’ve use Ragi/ Nachni and to sweeten it I’ve used Palm Jaggery/ Nolen Gur.
Fennel and pepper added to the Puda completely enhances the taste.
1 cup Nachni flour
5-6 tbsp liquid palm jaggery
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp whole / cracked. black pepper. ( not powdered)
In the large bowl mix in all the ingredients and mix in enough batter to make a batter of flowing consistency.
Cover and keep aside for about 30 mins.
Heat a nonstick tawa/ griddle.
Make thin pancakes / chillas. Drizzle a little ghee. Cook till the underside is cooked. Flip and cook again.
Enjoy these delicious Pudas.
I made in Mini Uttapam Pan to get small even Pudas.
