Besan ki Roti

1 cup besan ( Bengal gram split n skinned flour)
1/4 cup Atta ( whole wheat flour)
1 tbsp ghee/ oil
1/2 tsp carrom seeds
3/4 tsp red chilli pwd
1/4 tsp Haldi ( turmeric)
1/3 tsp salt

Sift n mix the Atta n besan. Add the salt , chilli pwd , turmeric n carrom seeds. Add the ghee n mix it in the flour. Add water n knead to a soft dough.Cover n let the dough rest for about 30-40 mins or more
Break the dough into equal portions n roll out small thick discs. Or. Roll out 1 large thick disc n cut into roundels with a sharp edged katori( bowl) or a cookie cutter
Heat a tawa( skillet). Lay a few of the discs on it. As the underside starts puffing up flip the discs n cook on the raw side as well. Repeat with all the discs. Lay on a flat plate or tray n keep it covered with a clean kitchen towel or tissue.
Just before serving heat them on an open flame. Some might puff up like rotis. Apply ghee generously n serve hot .
